Foothills Weight Loss Specialists Earns Recertification as an ASMBS Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence

Foothills Weight Loss Specialists has again been named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). The Center of Excellence designation recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery and requires compliance with rigorous standards established by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).
SRC is an organization dedicated to pursuing bariatric surgical excellence. The organization thoroughly inspects and evaluates candidates for designation and only recommends the designation for those physicians and facilities whose practices and outcomes meet the stringent requirements for certification.
"Earning recertification as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence is a big honor for our practice," said Foothills Weight Loss Specialists Medical Director Dr. Mark Colquitt. "We continually work to improve the quality and safety of our services, and this designation acknowledges that we're succeeding in those efforts."
Bariatric surgeon Dr. Jonathan Ray added that the designation offers a level of assurance to Foothills patients. "There are risks associated with bariatric surgery, just as with any surgery. Because we are a Center of Excellence, our patients can be sure that we offer the highest level of care."
Foothills Weight Loss Specialists first earned the Center of Excellence designation in 2006. Its surgeons, Drs. Colquitt and Ray, are also designated as Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence physicians.
